P7’s @ Strathclyde Park – Day 4

Primary 7 had a fantastic final day at Strathclyde Park.  We started the day by taking on two orienteering challenges; well done to the winners! 🥇 Then it was time for some bush craft activities.  We lit our own fires using cotton wool and fire strikers before toasting some marshmallows on an open flame; yummy! We also learned how to saw a piece of wood and used it to make and decorate our own medallions.
After having lunch in the sunshine, it was time to tackle the climbing wall. And what a challenge it was! We had to use all of our muscles and agility to reach the buzzers at the top. Some of us even managed to complete all three climbs! We finished off the week with some races and ball games.
We can’t believe how quickly the week has gone by. We’d like to say a big thank you to our instructors, Lesley and Robyn, for giving us such an amazing experience. Can we come back next week? 😉

P7’s @ Strathclyde Park – Day 3

After a brilliant day of cycling in the sunshine, Primary 7 really enjoyed getting back to nature on our third day at Strathclyde Park. We spent the morning building our own dens in the woods. We used tarpaulins and ropes as well as anything we could find to create a comfortable shelter for our teams.  Our dens had campfires, a space for sleeping and even a tree swing!
In the afternoon, we channelled our inner Hawkeye and had a go at archery 🏹 We practised our accuracy over a short distance before moving on to a team relay and lots of other fun games.  We finished the day off with a game of kickball rounders ⚽️
We can’t believe there’s only one day left of our adventure week! We plan to make the most of it!

P7’s @ Strathclyde Park – Day 2

Primary 7 had another brilliant day at Strathclyde Park and today was only about one thing; cycling!  We spent the morning revising and completing our Bikeability 1 certificate, demonstrating that we knew how to check our bikes and keep them under control. We then got showed how to signal and turn before playing some games and zooming down the big grass hill! Some of us were so impressive that we were even allowed out to cycle on the road! We listened to our instructors and learned lots about cycling safely around traffic.

After lunch, we made the most of the glorious sunshine and went for a cycle around the park, putting all our skills into practice along the way.

Looks like we’re in for another sunny day tomorrow! Sun tan lotion at the ready! We can’t wait! 😎😎😎

P7’s @ Strathclyde Park – Day 1

The Primary 7’s had a great first day at Strathclyde Park! The sun was shining as we rode on pedalos and crashed into each other on the bumper boats. We had a go on the indoor rowing machines and even got to whiz around on a speedboat!

After a quick lunch, it was time for some water games. We had to use all of our team building skills to transfer water from one bucket to another. Our strength was put to the test trying to win the tug of war before showing off our throwing skills in a mini Highland Games.

What an action packed start to the week! We can’t wait for Day 2 😀
