UCAS Information Session – 5th September

Every year the school runs a UCAS class which assists our S6 students in applying to University. While the students are given time during the school day we encourage them to complete the application in their own time and for parents to be involved in this process.

A brief information session for parents and carers will be held in the school on Monday, 5th September 2016 at 6pm to go through the process and to allow you to discuss concerns or issues you may have.

Orienteering

Orienteering Club started again last week and a great adventure was had by all! Special mention to Mrs Cupples who made an impressive debut, winning second place.

S2 pupils Jordan, Ross & Jamie also participated in the Team Scotland selection race on Sunday and acquitted themselves well in the face of some serious competition. Well done, boys!

Edinburgh Book Festival

Pupils from S1 and S2 visited the Edinburgh International Book Festival today to see one of Scotland’s leading hip-hop bands, Stanley Odd.

As well as hearing ‘front man’ Dave Hook talk about how he uses poetic technique and structure in his lyrics, pupils also enjoyed hearing the band play some of their tracks.

Great inspiration for our Poetry Slam workshops next month…
