Lifeskills Maths supports numeracy and
- develops learners’ mathematical reasoning skills for learning, life and work
- develops confidence and independence in handling information and mathematical tasks in both personal life and in the workplace
- motivates and challenges learners by enabling them to think through real-life situations involving mathematics.
The National Qualification courses in Mathematics aim to build upon and extend pupils’ mathematical skills and techniques in a way that recognises problem solving as an essential skill, allowing pupils to integrate their knowledge of different aspects of the subject.
