Art and Design is a practical and experiential subject which enables pupils to enhance their creative talent and develop their artistic skills by integrating knowledge of art and design practice with practical activities.
This approach will help learners use their developing understanding of artists’ and designers’ work and practice to inform and influence the development of their own creative ideas.
Pupils are encouraged to develop their individual creativity and personal self-expression and
- Gain knowledge, understanding and appreciation of artists’ and designers’ work and practice
- Communicate personal thoughts, feelings and ideas using art and design media, materials techniques and/or technologies
- Work imaginatively and creatively, developing their problem solving, thinking and reflective practice skills
- Understand the impact of external influences on artists and designers and the work they produce.

Remote Learning
GLOW [https://glow.rmunify.com/]
Pupils who have access to their Glow accounts will find a range of information provided by their own teachers in some of the subject areas that will be very helpful to provide continuity for their learning. Class teachers may have created a class TEAM to share work directly with the class. If a pupil forgets, or has difficulty with their password for Glow, then parents/carers should contact the school. We have created a TEAM for each year group. These have been split into channels for each subject.
To access TEAMS on your phone or tablet. Download the Teams app then use your Glow email address and glow password to login to the app. Your Glow email address is your glow login followed by @glow.sch.uk. Remember that you can also download and install Microsoft office on your home computer by clicking on the Office 365 Home Tab on the Glow homepage.
