Mobile Phones

Whilst we understand that mobile phones can be a useful tool in learning and are very much part of our everyday lives, we are keen to minimise disruptions to learning at Calderhead and so ask that all mobile phones remain switched off and in bags/ jackets during class time. This is so that young people can be engaged in lessons and distractions are at a minimum.

We will remind pupils of this at their year group assemblies, and teachers will continue to enforce this policy; however, we are asking families to take time to read our guidelines and reinforce this at home. We appreciate your support in ensuring these guidelines are followed:

  • Mobile Phones should be switched off and placed in bags
  • Mobile phones should not be used in the corridor
  • Mobile phones should only be used in class as part of the lesson, and only when the teacher gives permission
  • Mobile phones should not be taken to the toilets
  • Mobile phones can be used during break and lunch.
