Our Committees

Our Committees help lead change in Calderbridge and aim to give our children a voice about what is happening in our school.

JRSO (Junior Road Safety Officers)

(led by Mrs  Allan)

Our Junior Road Safety officers are great examples of promoting road safety within our school. Our JRSO team help organise events and competitions throughout the year. They share news and events during our school assemblies.

 Digital Leaders

(led by Miss Cairney and Miss McPherson)

Our Digital leaders are a new committee in the school. They are responsible for ensuring the ipads are looked after and charged daily. They recently attended a Digital Leader Conference to find out more about their role. This year, they are working on promoting Cyber Resilience and Internet Safety.

Literacy Leaders

(led by Mrs Livingstone)

Last year, our school  became a Reading School. This means the school is committed to building a reading culture. Our literacy leaders have worked hard this year to upgrade our library.  The literacy leaders also enjoy reading stories to infant pupils during break times.

RRS (Rights Respecting School) Committee

(led by  Mrs Wendy Todd, Miss Leiper and Miss Ireland)

This year our school has been awarded Silver status as a Rights Respecting School. This means our school are aware of their rights and they are part of our class charters and discussions. We also have our Rights mascot ‘Unipup’ designed by our pupils.

                             ECO Committee

(led by Mrs Katy Canty )

Our school Eco Committee is responsible for helping make Calderbridge a cleaner and greener environment. Our committee meet to discuss ideas to reduce waste in our school, recycle effectively and ensure that our playground and surrounding areas are well looked after. Look out for updates of their great work!

              Sports Committee

(led by Mrs Wilson and Mrs Birrell)

Our Sports committee have been awarded the Sports Scotland Gold Award. This means that Calderbridge puts our children at the forefront of the decision making and planning of PE in our school and provide lots of opportunities for our children to take part in various sports and events throughout the year. Look out for the various clubs, trials and unique events that this committee work hard to plan!
