Our Committees

Our Committees help lead change in Calderbridge and aim to give our children a voice about what is happening in our school.

Our House Captains and Vice Captains

A huge congratulations to our newly appointed House
Captains and Vice Captains! Mrs Dowson is looking
forward to working with you! These pupils will play an important role in leading their houses, encouraging teamwork, and promoting our school values in everything we do. They will help to organise events, support younger pupils, and motivate their teams to do their very best throughout the year. We’re so proud of their commitment to making Calderbridge a place where everyone can shine!

 Rainy Day Monitors

Mrs Osborne is delighted to announce all children have passed their training and are fully qualified monitors! These responsible pupils support younger classes, lead games and activities, and make sure everyone enjoys their indoor break. They do a fantastic job showing kindness, teamwork, and leadership — helping to make wet playtimes bright and happy for everyone! Thank you to our Rainy Day Monitors for their enthusiasm and care.

 Digital Leaders

Miss McPherson would like to congratulate our new Digital Leaders! These pupils play an important role in helping Calderbridge stay safe, responsible, and confident online. They support staff and pupils with digital learning, share helpful tech tips, and promote positive online habits across the school. We’re excited to see their ideas in action and how they will make our use of technology even more inspiring and safe for everyone.

STEM Ambassadors

Congratulations to our new STEM Ambassadors! These pupils are passionate about science, technology, engineering, and maths, and will play a key role in inspiring their peers — supported by Miss Cairney. They will help lead experiments, organise STEM challenges, and share their love of discovery across the school. We’re excited to see their creativity and curiosity in action as they help make learning in STEM subjects fun, hands-on, and inspiring for everyone!

Junior Road Safety Officers (JRSOs)

Mrs Mathieson  is delighted to take on the role of supporting our JRSOs! These pupils already play an important part in keeping
everyone safe on their journeys to and from school. They
help raise awareness about road safety, share tips with
their peers, and lead campaigns and activities to make
our school community safer for all. We’re so proud of their dedication and leadership, and we can’t wait to see the positive impact they’ll have this year.

Children’s Rights Committee

Miss Beck, Mrs Canty, Miss Ireland, and Miss Docherty can’t wait to work with our Children’s Rights Committee. After achieving Silver
Status, we’re now aiming for Gold! Congratulations to our pupils for their incredible efforts in promoting children’s rights at Calderbridge.
This year, our goal is to achieve Gold Standard recognition for our commitment to ensuring every child’s voice is heard, valued, and respected. Our Rights Ambassadors are leading the way — helping their peers understand their rights, encouraging respectful relationships, and driving exciting projects that make our school a fairer and more inclusive place for everyone. We’re so proud of their dedication and can’t wait to celebrate their achievements as we work towards our Gold Award!

Sports Committee

Miss McGuiness and Mrs Wilson are leading the way, supporting our sports-passionate pupils as they help Calderbridge maintain its sportscotland GOLD Award standard. The committee’s main aim this year is to ensure that every pupil — especially those who haven’t yet found an interest outside of school — has the chance to explore different clubs and discover activities that help them shine and achieve their best. Their first mission is to organise new lunchtime and after-school clubs — offering every pupil the chance to explore activities that spark their interest and help them achieve their best.

Our Literacy Leaders

Mrs Livingstone would like to congratulate our Literacy Leaders! Their first mission is to promote a love of reading and storytelling
across Calderbridge. They encourage their peers to read for enjoyment, share creative ideas, and support literacy initiatives throughout the school. We’re excited to see their enthusiasm and leadership in action this year!
