Halloween Maths

Some of our S1-3 classes have been taking part in a group Halloween Maths Relay, solving problems using pumpkins, ghosts and vampires.  Others took part in some Halloween themed extension tasks such as spooky symmetry, we particularly liked this flying bat produced by one of our S2 pupils.

Maths Week Scotland

Maths Week Scotland was Monday 11th – Sunday 17th September.  In celebration, pupils have been participating in team problem solving challenges including Bowland Maths and Maths wi Nae Borders.  Some of our S3 classes have been learning how the Egyptians, Greeks and Romans have influenced maths and our S2s have had fun attempting a practical STEM challenge looking at tolerance and measure whilst building mini football tables with jelly baby players. Our winning S2 team were Callum Wylie, Summer Keenan and Finlay Anderson.
