Course Overview
This is an opportunity for pupils to build on prior learning or to begin exploring the world of Art and Design. All pupils should experience a wide range of both 2D and 3Dwork. Over the course of this year the course will focus on the Visual Elements( Line, shape, tone, colour, shape, form, pattern and texture) in all units of learning for both Design and Expressive. Pupils will work in partnership with Teachers to evaluate their work in all units of learning and discuss what levels they are working at in line with the Curriculum for Excellence .
Please see the Curriculum for Excellence Experiences and Outcomes for Art and Design to help explain what is involved in achieving a Level.
All units of learning will also link to a relevant Artist or Designer’s work where pupils will analyse their work using specialist Art and Design Language.
