Here are some songs and poems we have been learning to share at our assembly.

Chick, Chick, Chick

Today we continued to care for our ten beautiful chicks. We cleaned out the brooder box to give them a clean home and we made sure that they had plenty of food and water. We also had another chance to hold them and we were surprised to see how calm they are in our hands now. We then had a busy afternoon creating our own model chicks using balloons.

Miss McDonald brought he chicks back today and we couldn’t believe the difference in them. They are getting really big and growing their adult feathers. Today was very exciting because we got to hold the chicks for the first time. Here are some pictures of us.

Not long now until the chicks return to school and the children can see how much they have grown.

The chicks have been very well behaved since moving house and seemed to have settled in already. They slept well last night and could hardly wait for their breakfast. We can already see some changes in them with their adult feathers beginning to show.

The children are all very excited to have 10 baby chicks in our class and can’t wait until next week when we can finally hold them. The chicks have also been on the move and have arrived safely at their new home for the weekend.

We got to see the first and last chicks hatch this week. It was amazing!

We had a very exciting day today as we arrived to 6 more chicks arriving during the night taking our total up to 8 but the excitement didn’t stop there as 2 more chicks arrived in the afternoon with the children able to watch the last chick hatch. We have now moved 8 chicks to the brooder box and the others will join them tomorrow.

Today we saw the arrival of our first baby chick. We are all very excited and can’t wait until the others arrive.
