P1 & 2 Christmas Lunch
Yesterday the pupils in Primary 1 and 2 enjoyed being served their Christmas lunch by the Primary 7’s. The children were very good at trying new foods and all enjoyed their puddings. Merry Christmas!

Last week the children in Primary 1 celebrated Book Week Scotland. They enjoyed reading three new books from their Bookbug book bags. Primary 7 pupils joined us for some shared reading activities throughout the week and they did a great job. Thank you Primary 7!
As part of our technology topic this term P1 have to create their own hat. We spent some time last week looking at a variety of different hats and talking about who wears them and there purpose. We had fun trying them all on! The children decided to make a hat for their forthcoming Christmas Party. They were busy working with a partner to measure each others head span and get the hats underway. They did
P1 to P3 enjoyed a visit from the SSPCA on Friday. They learned about how litter can be dangerous for animals and that it is important to research a pet’s needs before getting one.
This week Primary 1 wrote narrative stories about the Three Little Pigs. Our star writers enjoyed sharing their wonderful stories with the rest of the class!
After being awarded Ms Sommerville’s class of the week the boys and girls in Primary 1 enjoyed their prize of an extra playtime. They loved having the empty playground to run around in and playing on the trim trail!
The boys and girls in Primary 1 worked in teams to complete a series of numeracy missions outdoors! Mission one was a treasure hunt in the school playground and garden. Each team were given a number between 1 and 5 and they had to find representations of that number hidden around the school. Mission two challenged the children to find natural materials and create a pictorial representation of their team number. The children made great use of the
Primary 1 have been enjoying moving to different melodies in music. We have been dancing like butterflies and walking like monsters! We used monstrous facial expressions to add to our overall performance.
It has been a busy start for Primary 1. The boys and girls have been working very hard developing their literacy skills. They have been taking part in a large variety of active tasks. I hope you enjoy some pictures of them engaged in their learning and having fun!
Primary 1 have been enjoying learning all about forces in our new science topic. We have been learning about push and pull. Some children brought in toys from home which need a push or a pull force to move. They enjoyed sharing them with the rest of the class.
