Outdoor Learning in Primary 1

The boys and girls in Primary 1 worked in teams to complete  a series of numeracy missions outdoors! Mission one was a treasure hunt in the school playground and garden.  Each team were given a number between 1 and 5 and they had to find representations of that number hidden around the school.  Mission two challenged the children to find natural materials and create a pictorial representation of their team number.  The children made great use of the outdoor environment by using sticks, leaves, stones and the school apple tree came in very handy!  The final mission was to show off their number formation skills and decorate the playground with the chunky chalks.  All missions were successfully accomplished Primary 1, well done!
