🍃❄️ Eco Learn about and Research ‘Marine Litter’ ❄️🍃

Today our Eco & Outdoor  learning team learned about the ‘Upstream Battle’ and detrimental effects of marine litter. We took a walk around our school grounds to try and identify how litter in our area might get into the River Clyde and came to the conclusion that it must be via drains. We are looking forward to raising more awareness about re-using, reducing and recycling!

🖼 Nessie Art by Primary 4 👏🏻😁

Inspired by the work of ‘Steven Brown’, Primary  4  had fun using oil pastels to create their vibrant, multi- coloured Nessies. The children enjoyed exploring the use of charcoal to create their monotone landscapes of the Loch Ness . We think this contrast works well, making  our Nessies  really stand out!

⛪️ P4 Visit to Viewpark Parish Church⛪️

Primary 4 had a super afternoon visiting Viewpark Parish Church. Thank you to Mr Lyall who kindly took the time to teach the children about the symbolic features of the church. They had a wonderful time learning about how the church has been restructured and redesigned  over recent years and thoroughly enjoyed seeing photos of the original church interior on the large screen projector.  ⛪

🍃 Eco Code designs! 🍃

🍃Thank you to our Eco & Outdoor Learning Team for taking the time to create such fantastic Eco Code designs for Aitkenhead Primary School!  🍃 The children enjoyed selecting their four favourite designs to put forward to our whole school vote, which will take place next week!
