Today it was time for some drama linked to our Titanic topic. Can you tell the difference between which ‘still images’ show surprise and amazement at seeing the Titanic for the first time and those that show the joy turning to sadness with the loss of loved ones.
Yesterday it was so beautiful that we stayed outside all afternoon having fun with an orienteering activity. Lots of running around, teamwork and drawing maps for other groups to follow.
Today we had a great trip out to Sealife at Loch Lomond Shores. Primary 6 participated in a ‘Food Chain’ workshop learning what would happen to sea creatures if there was a break in the link of the food chain. To demonstrate this we were asked to be different creatures. You may not know it but you are looking at plankton, crabs, sharks…!
This afternoon we rotated around different 3D shape activities. Constructing cubes and other shapes with polyhedron, using squared paper to draw and cut out nets but the one that pupils were most excited about was making solid shapes out of playdough.
This week our school introduced some changes to Golden Time. As normal the school was buzzing with excitement but this time a mixture of classes from P 1 to 7 went to different activities. Primary 6 pupils were asked to create a fun fitness circuit which would help younger pupils to practise a range of activities. In small groups Primary 6 chose an activity and the equipment needed. We had a practise run, trying each others activities and then thinking of adaptations that might be necessary for Primary 1 pupils to be able to succeed. Back in class we wrote instructions describing how to
On Tuesday 22nd May Aitkenhead visited Uddingston Grammar to participate in a Shinty Festival. This involved playing lots of 4 minute matches, some against teams from our own school but also from other local primary schools.
Today we have been writing instructions on how to keep fit and went outside to set up a fitness circuit. Each group chose their equipment and set up an area in the playground. After ensuring their activity worked they explained it to the rest of the class. Next we had great fun rotating around the activities. Back inside we spent the afternoon writing instructions and hopefully soon we will be
