P5 visit New Lanark World Heritage Site
P5 had an action packed day today at New Lanark! Their tour guide, Leslie, was super impressed with how much knowledge the children already had about life in the past at New Lanark. They were able to see the cramped living conditions people lived in and experience exactly what school was like through a brilliant role play session. The children were also able to experience the ‘Annie McLeod ride’ which gave them insight into the life of a child having to work long hours in the mills. Visiting the village shop was also on the agenda and the children enjoyed spending their money! The shopkeeper commented on their lovely manners and I am very proud of my fabulous P5’s! Many thanks to our parent helpers for joining us – Mrs McGill and Mrs Houston.
