National 3

What to Expect?

The National 3 Biology course is comprised of 3 core units  which are internally assessed.
Each unit builds upon the basic curriculum for excellence foundations taught during the BGE phase and introduces exciting new concepts for a deeper understanding of how  planet earth is delicately balanced and the inner workings of the human body functions.
As with all Science, some basic numeracy skills will be a key component throughout as you understand how to complete core skills such as calculating averages, simplifying ratios and  percentages.

What are the Units?

Each unit is made up of approximately 5  key areas and consists of individual tasks, independent research, class discussions and core knowledge questions.
The names of each unit are as follows:
1. Cell Biology
2. Multicellular Organisms
3. Life on Earth

Where can I get Resources?

Resources for the course will be provided digitally through your class team including all PowerPoints, videos, worksheets and access to  interactive virtual classrooms which are tailored for learning at this level.
