Summerlee

Primary 7 went to Summerlee about 3 weeks ago for a school trip for their topic World War II. When they arrived at Summerlee they went to the gift shop and were told to go down the mines to see how the miners worked and how terrible the conditions were. After that they went to see the houses from the 1800’s to the 1900’s and the back gardens with the Anderson shelters. Later they  went to the school workshop and had to decipher a code to find out what number was our suitcase. When they found the suitcase, inside the suitcase was one of four things; rationing, make do and mend, evacuation & security. It was a great school trip and everyone really enjoyed it.
