February has been a busy month so far.
We have been cooking with Mr Fionda on Thursday mornings. Already we have made muffins which were delicious (so I’m told!). You can look forward to more delicious treats coming home over the next few weeks! This has allowed us to read and follow recipes and accurately use scales to weigh ingredients.
In our topic, we’ve learned more about life in the 1960s and we are looking forward to our visit to Summerlee next Wednesday to attend 2 workshops to find out even more and to experience what life was like back in the 60s.
In maths, we have been learning how to work out some challenging time durations and how to accurately read and understand a variety of timetables – a very important life skill if using public transport. We’ve also been learning about inequalities and negative numbers (might come in useful at this time of year if the temperature drops below 0C!)
P7 Playground Leaders are putting their skills into practice on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. They are helping to ‘lead’ the P3 children at lunchtime in a programme of games to make break time more fun. A second group of P7 children are currently undergoing training with Natalie, our Active Schools Co-Ordinator.
