Week Beginning Monday 1st October
The past few weeks have been very busy, as normal, and we are now heading towards the October Break already.
During the month of October the Captains will be organising many events that will involve the school houses with the House day taking place on Friday 12th October. All children will be asked to come to school dressed in their house colours. This is a great day in the school with good natured competition between the houses. Prizes for best dressed as always. The Sponsored House walk was a great success and can I ask that you send in donations as soon as possible please. This money goes towards lots of extras in the school that help to enhance the learning environment for all our children.
The Class Reps have had their first meeting last week and they came up with many ideas and suggestions however they have decided to focus Litter Awareness for the month of November.
Primary 1 have settled in well and I would like to thank everyone who came along to the Primary 1 Welcome Evening last Friday. This was a great success and was enjoyed by everyone who attended. Many thanks to the PTFA for organising this event and to the Pope Francis Faith Award Children who came along to support. I think they enjoy Magic Den just as much as the younger children!
A number of After School Clubs will begin after the October break, if you could encourage your child to come along as this. Cross Country will begin on Tuesday.
Many children are now using Sumdog at home to support maths taught in the school. If your child has not yet started I would encourage you to do so as this is a fabulous resource for home learning.
Online appointments for Parents’ Evening is now open. Your child should have received a letter explaining this. If you have any queries please contact the office.
Over the last few weeks we have had many visitors in the school and they have all commented on how well our children behave and how mannerly they are. We are very proud of our children and strive to make sure we create an environment where all children are encouraged and supported to do their very best.
