St Ignatius' PS

Weekly Blog – 19th February

As lent has recently started we been trying hard to get to mass at 8.20am every morning. It is lovely to see so many children there.  Please try to come along if you can.  School staff will escort the children over to the school after mass.

The children will also lead Stations of the Cross on Friday in the Church at 1.15pm. We would also like to welcome any parishioners and families members.

Primary 6 and 7 have been preparing for the Confirmation, which will take place on Tuesday 27th February at 7.00pm. Please keep these children in your prayers.

This month’s vision statements will be ‘Include Everyone’ & ‘Have A Go’.  We will be talking about these at assembly and in the class.

The Military Museum will visiting the school on Thursday 22nd February. This is a fabulous experience for the children of P6 and P7 who are studying WWII.

Some of the children from P5 to P7 will be taking part in the Cross Country trials this Thursday. We wish all the children the best of luck and hope the weather is not too bad!!

This week’s Lenten event will be a treasure hunt. The Captains and Vice Captains have been busy organising this. We are sure the children will have a lot of fun on Friday hunting for the treasure. It is also a dress down day as it is every Friday during Lent.

A representative from one of our chosen charities, Let the Children Live, will be speaking at assembly this week explaining to the children the very important work this charity does.

We ask if you could donate £1 each Friday to help support our chosen charities.

The second preparation mass for confirmation will take place this Sunday at 10.00am . Primary 6/7 will lead this mass. Children do not need to wear school uniform.

Please continue to check the website as we are now posting a weekly blog to keep you up to date of what is happening in the school.
