Virtual School Trip – Ancient Egypt

Hello Room 11 and 12.

In school we were learning all about Ancient Egypt and did not get the chance to finish our topic before the schools closed.

I have found a fantastic virtual school trip for you all, which means you can explore the Pyramids of Giza in Ancient Egypt from home!

Click on the link below or copy and paste it into your internet to explore.

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/about/behind-the-scenes/streetview/treks/pyramids-of-giza/

Let me know how you found this task in the comments below.

Enjoy!

Thursday

Good morning Room 9.  I hope you’re having a wonderful week and enjoying the lovely weather.  Here’s another video about sun safety, this one focuses on sunburn. If you’ve ever had sunburn before you’ll know it can be very sore but the good news is we can stop it.  I’d love to see your pictures of you playing safely in the sun, wearing your hats and putting on your sun cream.  You can email me your pictures to gw14mackinnoncatherine@glow.sch.uk

I really would love to see them and I’ll re-post them on the blog for you.

If you’re playing outside, why not give this scavenger hunt a go?  You could fill it out using things from inside and outside the house and I’d love to see them when they’re done.

Everyone should have received their Education City logins yesterday. Please log on and just have a look about.  Please let me know your first thoughts.

I’m just about to check Sumdog to give out coins as rewards for everyone who was on yesterday, so keep an eye out for that.

I loved reading the first 5 chapters of The Ickabog yesterday.  It’s so different to Harry Potter.  But it’s also put me in the mood to start reading all my Harry Potter books again.  I’d love to hear what you’ve been doing during Lockdown in your spare time.

Home Learning 28th May 2020

Good Morning P6,

I am looking forward to catching up with everyone this afternoon! I hope to hear from as many of you as possible. Remember there are only 2 groups today, 1pm and 2pm 💜…

Today is week 10 of clapping for our NHS and Key Worker heroes.

We have explored lots of different types of careers and workplaces in class so far this year and today I thought we could focus on the huge variety of jobs within the NHS.

There are over 350 different careers in the NHS – it isn’t just doctors and nurses.

Here are a few other roles:

Dentist, Radiographer, Physiotherapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Anaesthetist, Paramedic, Ambulance, Technician, Osteopath, Podiatrist, Occupational Therapist, Dietician, School Nurse, Pharmacist, Midwife, Dental Hygienist, Health Visitor, Mental Health Nurse, Pathologist, GP, Forensic PsychologistSurgeon, Phlebotomist, Neurologist, Porter, Catering Manager, Domestic Assistant, Optometrist, Receptionist, Health Care Support Worker, Emergency Call Handler, Theatre Nurse, Intensive Care Nurse, Virologist, Paediatrician, Prosthetic Support Worker, Audiologist, IT service Desk Technician, Medical Secretary, Medical Illustrator, Oncologist.

Choose one of the roles and carry out some research to find out as much detail as you can about the job.

If you know someone who works in the one of these roles maybe you could ask them some questions as part of your research.

Consider things like the qualifications needed for the role? Type of training needed? What personal skills are needed? What are the main responsibilities of the job?

You can choose to display your research in many ways:-  a poster, a mind map, fact file, digital display or a written report. It’s up to you!

Happy researching!

Have a good day everyone, stay safe & keep smiling!

Lots of love,

Miss Rossetti 🌈 💜
