P7

Good morning P7!

I hope you are all well and working through the CNHS literacy task you have been set this week.

Just a reminder that your high school visit is tomorrow, this is a great opportunity to tour the building and meet some of your new teachers.

I can’t wait to hear all about it!
I’ll be over on Teams if you need anything.

Enjoy the sunshine today P7,

Stay safe & keep smiling

Mrs H 😊

Thursday

Good morning room 9!  Here is the finished product that our lovely classmate was collecting twigs for.  Isn’t it beautiful?  Lots of hard work has gone into that.  I’d love to know what the rest of you have been doing.  Please send me an email to gw14mackinnoncatherine@glow.sch.uk if you’d like to attach pictures or just reply to the comment section under this post.  I would love to hear from you.

I do apologise, I forgot to send out Sumdog coins yesterday so to make up for it I’ll send 200 coins today and tomorrow.

Have a lovely day!

Virtual Sports Day

I hope that some of you managed to find some time to practise some of the events for Monday or even find resources from around the house you will need to compete!

The last 3 events of the Virtual Sports Day will be; the long jump, a marathon run and an obstacle course. Some of these will be tough!!

The long jump – for the long jump you can mark out a starting point. You will take a run up to this point and jump pushing off of one leg. Remember to land safely! Ask your helper to measure how far you managed to jump, the point you first touched the ground is where you measure to. Measure this in strides.

Marathon run – This is all about endurance! Mark out a 5m length with cones, jumpers or bottles. You are counting how many times you can run 10m, so that is running from the starting marker to the end marker and back again. You are trying to run for 3 mins if you are p1-3 or 5 mins if you are p4-7. You gain ore points if you can run for the whole time without stopping!

Obstacle course – This is my favourite!!! Use your imagination and make up an obstacle course, use a range of objects from around the house, making sure it is safe!! Points are up for grabs for completing your obstacle course. Remember to have fun!!

Come back tomorrow to find out how you will record and submit your scores! If you haven’t already ask an adult to follow NLActiveSports on twitter for updates!

Memories of Room 13!

Hello there!

If you joined us at our team meeting earlier today you will have seen the premiere of this video! For those who missed it, here it is! Enjoy! I loved putting this together and it reminded me of just how much we have learned and achieved this year. We are a great team! Let your families see it too and share some of your favourite memories with them. It will also help you with this week’s writing task!

Lots of love,

Mrs Jaconelli. xx

Home Learning 17th June 2020

Morning everyone! 🥰

I hope you are enjoying your learning so far this week. There are lots of tasks on Sumdog as well as Mrs Frew’s tasks and our literacy tasks based on our new e-book. If you haven’t accessed this yet you can find it on FILES on our TEAMS page. I have also sent out the invites for our chat which will be tomorrow at 10am. I really hope you can all make it ❤️

1 more week of school left until the summer holidays! Who can believe it? The time has gone by with the blink of an eye 👁 Hopefully next week Mr Sunshine reappears and we can enjoy the great outdoors! ☀️

For today’s learning…

Literacy

Please continue to read The Man Who Bought A Mountain.
The task for today is based on chapter 2 and is a metalinguistics task:

Have a look at these words. Find them in the chapter and use your strategies to help you work out their meanings. Remember our strategies are:

Read back
Read on
Discussion
Prior Knowledge

You should guess what you think the meaning is first and then use a dictionary to check if you are correct. Just like we do in class. Good luck 💕

Well-being Wednesday

Today I would also like you to try and fit in some yoga. As we know yoga is great for relaxing, building upon our flexibility and helping with our mental wellbeing. Have a go at this yoga session with Adrienne:

Religious Education

On Friday it is the Feast of Sacred Heart of Jesus ❤️ our school’s feast day. It is a very important day for us and everyone in the Catholic Church and although we can’t share the great day in each other’s company, we can still celebrate this virtually alongside Father McGoldrick. Between now and Friday I would like you to create a prayer, similar to our School prayer, thanking Jesus for guiding us not only through our daily life but especially during this really difficult time.

Your prayer only has to be around 6-7 lines long.
Please create a beautiful colourful border around your prayer and take care with your handwriting and spelling.

Please can you share your prayers with me via TEAMS or EMAIL as I would love to forward them to Father McGoldrick who I know is missing us all very much. Good luck ❤️

Have a fantastic day my lovelies and I’ll speak to you all tomorrow.

Miss Rossetti 🥰xx

Wednesday

Good morning room 9.  I hope you are all well.  I woke up to the loveliest emails today from one of our classmates who has sent me some photos of what she has been up to recently.  Her smile has put a huge smile on my face!  I would love to hear from more of you about what you have been doing.  You can leave me a comment here, come to our final chat next week, or email me some photos too.  I promise I’ll reply to everything.

Remember if you are having any troubles accessing the resources I’ve posted for you, please get in touch because we can fix logins etc for you from home.  So that’s for Studyladder, Education City, Oxford Owl, Sumdog and Vooks.  What’s your favourite?

Have a wonderful day!
