Good morning Room 14!

Miss Rossetti is very sorry for not checking in yesterday, my internet was down all day and you all know how upset Miss R gets when the technology doesn’t work! 😂 I hope you all had a fabulous long weekend and are all safe and well. I am missing you more every day!

For the rest of this week here are your learning activities:

Literacy

– Try today’s word wheel

– Take 30 minutes chill time in the garden or in a quiet area and have a read (or listen) to your favourite book or podcast. Remember we can access lots of e-books and podcasts online.

– Practise your spelling words from the last few weeks in any way you wish. If you have some chalk take it outside and practise them on the ground!

– Have a go at these Inference tasks. We know in class when we are doing inference we are trying to read between the lines and figure out what the author is really trying to say. These tasks are for the Superstar Spellers & Rockin’ Spellers:

– Fantastic Readers and Wow Readers your literacy tasks have been updated on Study Ladder.

Numeracy

-All maths groups Sumdog tasks have been updated. These will be live until Friday.

-Fun Task Alert 🚨 I would also like you to try and create your own maths game. We play lots of snakes and ladders type maths games at school but I would like you to try and be as creative as possible and create your own game. You can use addition, subtraction, multiply, divide, money, measure, angles, anything to create your game! It must have:

• at least 2 players

• at least 2 different maths concepts (example, ➕➖)

•a challenge question

Think of the fun games we play in class or any you have at home to give you ideas for your maths game. Please remember to share these with me and when we return to school we can play them together.

Health & Wellbeing

– Watch Newsround on CBBC. Have a listen to the latest news and write down your thoughts. Is there anything you are confused by? Do you have any questions you would like answered? Has there been any surprising news?

– Random Acts of Kindness ❤️ Think of at least 5 random acts of kindness that you can do over the next 5 days. People can have good days and bad days and it’s always good to make sure everyone is okay. Perhaps you could help make the dinner without being asked? Or you could pick some flowers in your garden for your family? Or you could help a family member around the house?

I know my room 14 children are very kind and will come up with the best ideas.

I will update other activities and tasks throughout the day until Friday for topic and other subjects.

Good luck with these tasks and please remember to share with me.

Have a fabulous day.

Miss Rossetti 💓
