We had a fantastic time at Book Week. We loved reading the book “Jack and the Beanstalk.” Chloe enjoyed acting out the story with her peers and performing on the stage. Kelsie loved making the beanstalk out of a selection of materials. Kayleigh enjoyed learning about the parts of a bean and planting her very own bean. Tommy loved making his very own magic bean out of clay. Sophie was very keen to use her measuring skills to measure the beanstalks and place them in the correct order. Evan loved reading his book for the Readathon. We had a fabulous week and participated in lots of active activities.book week photos

Book Week – Primary 2
We have the busiest time this week, immersing ourselves in all things Literacy for Book Week. We have been focusing on Traditional Tales and the children have done lots of Drama using the story box and props to make up their own stories.
As a link to Hansel and Gretel, the children made their own bread and watched how the yeast made the dough rise.
Next up was the Readathon and book swap, which were both a huge success. The class loved exploring all the different books and getting to take a new one home, as well as getting to read with some of the older children.
The children worked hard together in pairs, to create their own touchy – feely books and loved presenting their homework projects to the class. Check out our display outside the class on your way past. Well done everyone!
Room 3 Puppet Shows
Today Room 3 looked at a range of traditional tales and continued with the idea of looking at stories from the villain’s point of view. They worked in small groups to create their very own puppets and perform their puppet show to each other in the puppet theatre!
Primary 5 Dancing
Primary 5 have been taking part in a weekly dance workshop at Sir Matt Busby. It has been great fun. Have a look at how we have been getting on!
Room 16 Creating Their Own Smoothies
Room 16 worked in groups to create their own drinks. They used a variety of juice including orange, mango, cranberry and apple and they added strawberries and raspberries. The results were great and each group chose a winner. It was great fun!

A Very Successful Open Evening
Last night, parents, pupils and staff enjoyed a very successful open evening. Pupils were able to share learning with parents and show them round their classroom and school. Parents could meet staff and celebrate the many successes of their children in school so far in the year. Everyone enjoyed the night. Thank you for the great attendance.
