Every child should have by now brought home their ‘Beat the Street’ fob/key-ring, map and information pack for parents. Parents please remember to register your card and choose Lawmuir as your home team. Remember to scan as many boxes as you can and help us climb the leader board. Check our progress or find out more here .
We have been working on building friendships and co-operation. We went outside to learn some new team games that we can play during break times. We have also been continuing to do our Race to Rio laps, running, jogging and walking for 15 minutes per session.
This week the children have done lots of interesting and active work, learning about the Human Body. In Art, we made our own ‘Funnybones’ skeletons, using artstraws.
We used books and videos to research the skeleton and labelled all the major bones, using the technical names! Watch out for our bones challenge in the next week as well as naming our very own resident skeleton.
We moved on to look at the major organs within our bodies and had lots of fun finding out about where they are and what they do. We then placed them in the correct places using an organ apron.
We then exercised our bodies outdoors, enjoying fresh air and were learning new playground games that the children can use independently on their breaktimes.
We are really enjoying our new topic and are looking forward to sharing our learning at our class assembly on the 11th March.
