Rescheduled Parents Meetings
Due to proposed Industrial Action by members a number of teaching unions, we have decided to rearrange our Parents Meetings. These will now take place on Thursday 1st December.
In changing the date now, we hope to minimise disruption going forward. If you have already made an appointment for a Parents Meeting, we will transfer all existing appointments to the new date, so that your chosen time will remain the same. In a small number of cases this will not be possible and you will be contacted directly by the school office in order to make an alternative time.
If you have not yet made a booking please do so as soon as possible using information provided via Groupcall email.
At this stage we do not know how schools will be affected. However, given the anticipated disruption you may wish to consider making precautionary childcare arrangements should we have to close due to the impact of the industrial action.
If you have any queries regarding Parent appointments, please contact the school office between 10pm – 2pm and someone will answer your query as soon as possible.
Children In Need
Thanks to everyone who donated. We raised an amazing £140-61 for Children In Need. And had great fun in the process.
Retirement
At assembly on Friday we said goodbye to Grace our wonderful catering manager. We hope you enjoy your well earned retirement after a fantastic 24 years service!
Planned Industrial Action – Thursday 24th November
It is intended that all education establishments, except for our 23 individual family learning centres and 52-week nurseries based in school settings, will be closed to children and pupils on Thursday 24 November 2022 due to industrial action by teaching unions.
This means that all term-time (38-week) early years establishments, school-based nurseries, primary, secondary and additional support needs schools are expected to be closed to pupils and children on Thursday 24 November.
All buildings will remain open to staff during the period of the strike action.
All educational and early years establishments will open as normal on Friday 25 November.
What you need to know
Children and young people should not attend school or nurseries within schools on Thursday 24 November. Some ELC establishments will remain open. Please see the NLC Website fpr more information.
You may need to consider alternative arrangements for childcare.
As all early years establishments and schools facilities will be closed to children and young people, there will not be any school meal provision on site, and there will not be any school transport (mainstream and ASN), breakfast clubs or school crossing patrols on Thursday 24 November.
Families in receipt of free school meals on the basis of low income will be reimbursed via a direct payment to bank accounts or via Paypoint voucher to postal addresses which may take up to five working days.
Teachers, early years and other school support staff who are not striking, will continue to work from their place of work on the day of the strike.
