Well Maths and English are out of the way now and you should be well settled into your study routine. I therefore thought that this was a good time to go back over the structure of the paper you will face on the 27th of May.
The table above shows the number of marks available for the different topics in the course. You can see right away that some topics have a minimum of 8 marks.
- writing code with algorithm specification – Standard Algorithms; linear search, find max, find min, count occurrences.
- Low Level operations and computer architecture – 2’s complement, fetch execute, etc.
- Database design… – ERD, Data Dictionaries, relationships, key fields.
- Website design… – site structure and coding.
That means that these 4 sections make up minimum of a third of the exam and potentially could be half of the exam. Make sure that your revision gives enough time to the topics that carry the most marks. There are a number of ways to study, but the most important thing is to make time to do it.
