Dear Parent/Guardian
Thank you for your interest in the school. Our handbook has been compiled in order that we might:
- give you some general information about the school
- offer a brief outline of our education aims for your children
- give statements on our curriculum content
We are a diverse and inclusive community in Christ the King Primary and we acknowledge the important role we play in the lives of our pupils, their families and the local parish. Our Nursery class has a non-denominational status. In Christ the King we strive to reach this excellence by promoting a positive ethos where confidence, self-esteem and high expectation are encouraged in an atmosphere of fairness, equality, tolerance and mutual respect. We teach the values of respect for others regardless of their creed, colour, ability or gender in order to promote a caring happy environment for all our community therefore actively professing and living our Catholic values.
In Christ the King we strive in line with the North Lanarkshire Education & Families Department policy of Raising Attainment and Achievement, which is a strategy of raising achievement for all by supporting young people and adults in achieving their individual potential.
We aim to raise achievement and attainment in our school by creating an ethos of high expectation thus supporting all pupils in reaching their individual potential by recognising and rewarding success and achievements in a broad spectrum of activities.
Parents who entrust their children to us, can be confident that all staff are very much aware of the tremendous responsibility we have in developing each child to achieve their maximum potential in a caring and nurturing, secure and happy environment.
We value each child as an individual and hope that experiences gained in Christ the King School will give your child a positive self-image, and enable them to make a contribution to the school and the wider community.
I look forward to meeting you, but in the meantime, if I can be of any further assistance and if you would like to arrange a visit to Christ the King, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
Mrs M Tierney
