Vampire Physics

I love “Physics” games, where you have to set up a sequence of events to do a task. I found a little cracker over the holidays, Vampire Physics, you have to convert all the humans to vampires while at the same time making sure that they don’t get killed by all the normal things.

What make the game great is the built in level editor, where you can create your own levels for other users to play. Great fun and it keeps the game fresher for longer.

Open Source Games

I am a big fan of free and open source games. They tend to require a lower spec than today’s block busters. Here is a list of some of the best games out there. You might recognise some of them, we have a lot of them on the machines.

Although looking at the list I may need to update some of the games, it looks like I am a release or two behind on them. I will update speed dreams tomorrow and add in the extra cars, etc.

OpenTTD

Next weeks review game is a biggie, there is no way you can get the full play experience in 55 minutes.

You can download it from the main site for the game, tutorials and other information can also be found there.

The game is based on Transport Tycoon Deluxe which was a resource management game from the 1990s.

OpenTTD is an open source simulation game based upon the popular Microprose game “Transport Tycoon Deluxe”, written by Chris Sawyer. It attempts to mimic the original game as closely as possible while extending it with new features.

OpenTTD is licensed under the GNU General Public License version 2.0. For more information, see the file included with every release and source download of the game.
