Dear Parents and Carers
On behalf of the children and staff of Woodlands Primary and Early Years Class, it gives me great pleasure in welcoming you to our brand new website. Here you will find lots of information about our school and the many exciting activities we do. Make sure you visit this site on a regular basis as there will be new items added all of the time. As our new website progresses, it will reflect the fact that Woodlands is a thriving school, committed to providing a broad and balanced education in order to develop the whole child.
Woodlands is first and foremost a learning environment. We prepare our children for a happy, confident entry into the world as responsible citizens. We aim to inspire our children to do their very best to achieve academic excellence through helping build confidence and belief in themselves, helping them to become independent, motivated and creative learners and helping them to be reflective and thoughtful people who are able to make good friends and to develop a wide range of interests and skills. Above all, we want our children to come to school every day happy and excited about learning.
We are a friendly, welcoming and inclusive school with high expectations for every child both academically and socially.
At Woodlands we are committed to safeguarding all members of our community. We believe that our school should provide a safe, caring, positive, and stimulating environment in which pupils can learn and which promotes the social, physical and emotional wellbeing of each individual. At all times we take notice of and adhere to the national and local policies and guidance in regards to keeping children safe in education.
We have enthusiastic staff, who are committed to high standards of education and behaviour. The school endeavours to give children a secure and happy environment in which to learn and develop as young adults. The partnership between home and school is a vital one and mutual support is imperative, so we strive to work in close partnership with our parents and families to do the very best for our children and our community. Our practice is rooted in our belief that all members of the community should be treated with respect and dignity and that everyone has the right to equality of opportunity and is of equal worth.
Our school is an open one, where we are keen to see and hear from parents. Please feel free to raise any concerns or queries with your child’s class teacher, myself or the office staff, who can put you in contact with the right person.
