History at St Matthew’s Academy investigates key social, political and economic changes that have impacted Scotland and the wider world at different points throughout History.
In S1, students will study one 12 week unit which investigates how Scotland has developed since the 1100s. In S2, students will study two 6 week units. These focus on the Holocaust and the Trade in Enslaved People. In S3, students will study the Civil Rights Movement in the USA from 1863-1970, and then investigate the Impact of WW1 on Scotland.
