Kilmory Primary School is situated at the south end of the Island of Arran. The catchment area encompasses Corriecravie to Levencorrach.
This is a rural area of the island with little public transport other than the service bus to and from the boat sailings in Brodick. However, there is a community bus which can be used by residents of the area and groups outwith. Facilities in the village include a hall with bunk house and a hotel. There are also a few local businesses such as the creamery and woodwork/pottery shop.
The School
The school roll in 2018/19 is 20 pupils plus 4 in the early years class. The school has a capacity for 33 pupils and 10 places for 3 to 4 year olds in the early years class.
The present school was opened in 1974 and replaced a Victorian building. It was extended in 2008. It is a fully open plan building which is a very versatile design suited to a small school. There is a kitchen in the school and meals are cooked at a hub kitchen in Shiskine and brought to Kimory.
The school also benefits from having extensive school grounds, particularly for the size of the school. The children have access to a tarred and small grass area to the front of the school as well as a playing field to the rear and a play park to the side of the school.
