Junior Leadership Groups

We have a number of leadership groups to involve children in improving our school and making it the best experience for them. At present we have

Pupil Council

We act on ideas given to us by other pupils so that they know their voices are being heard.

We have a meeting every month, we use themes from the Education Scotland documents ‘How Good is OUR School?’ (Part 1 and 2 – see below) and our learner participation policy.

So far we have  improved our playground, bought new toys, helped design CPS The Best Lesson and this year we will aim to develop our outdoor classroom.

Learning For Sustainability

We work closely with the Cumbrae Forum to develop our school garden so that all classes can learn how to grow and cultivate fruit and vegetables.

Rights, Respecting School

We  ensure that all children in the school are well cared for and feel safe according to to the United nations Rights of the Child. We are very nearly achieving our Silver award.

Digital Leaders

We make sure that all the technology in the school is well looked after and that everyone is aware of online safety.

JRSO

We are the Junior Road Safety Officers and we help our children learn about how to keep themselves safe on the roads when walking, scooting or cycling.
