The aim of the Science Department at Auchenharvie Academy is to promote interest, knowledge and develop investigative skills in all aspects of science.
Science offers students the ability to access a wealth of knowledge and information which will contribute to an overall understanding of how and why things work. In the classroom, we develop an understanding of the fundamental aspects of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, relating them to applications in real life.
At Auchenharvie Academy, our Science courses also offer the opportunity to explore the skills associated with the practical elements of Science. Students are given the opportunity to develop transferrable skills such as team work, communication and organization, as well as developing an understanding for health and safety and risk assessment.
We consider Science to be an essential part of further learning and career options for our students.
