This year the Rights Respecting Pupil Group have discussed rights and responsibilities and have thought of different ways to promote rights in the school. We found out about the UNICEF Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards. As a group we decided we would like to work toward the awards. We looked at the checklists and thought about what our school would have to achieve to earn the award. We decided to make posters to help other children in the school learn about rights and to tell them what the group is doing. We thought it would be useful to give a presentation about Rights and the Bronze Award at a school assembly so we began preparing our presentation to help others learn about their rights . Finally we have started completing pupil questionnaires which will help us gather the evidence we need to apply for the Bronze Rights Respecting Schools Award.
