We used our sessions to plant lovely new bulbs and seeds which we placed in pots at the front of the school. These had to be watered every day and replanted into bigger pots as they grew. We also used our time to ensure the school playground stayed neat and tidy, working together to pull up any weeds we found.
During our sessions, we were also given the opportunity to design and decorate our own plant pots. We first planned our design on paper and then painted our finished creation onto ceramic pots which we could take home to give to our families.
Next session, the gardening club will focus on growing vegetables in the school garden and hope to have them ready by the Harvest festival. We would also like to consider getting picnic tables and benches to place in the playground for pupils to use during their lunch breaks.
