About Barnaby

Barnaby has been with us since he was just a few months old. He is a African Pygmy goat, a breed known for its small size and friendly nature. Barnaby loves climbing on top of the wooden structures in Goat Mountain and is always the first to greet visitors who come by with feeding scoops.

Fun Facts about Barnaby

• His favorite treat in the world is fresh willow leaves.
• Goats have rectangular pupils, which helps Barnaby see a wide range around him to spot his friends approaching.
• He has a best friend named Pip, a sheep who shares the paddock next to him. They can often be seen taking naps near the fence line together.

Ranger Insights: Looking After Barnaby

Our park rangers work hard daily to ensure Barnaby and his herd stay healthy and active. Pygmy goats require a strict diet of high-quality hay, specialized goat pellets, and plenty of fresh water. Rangers also trim Barnaby’s hooves regularly and provide him with new climbing toys to keep his active mind engaged.

• Morning Grooming: Join the rangers at 10:30 AM to watch how we brush Barnaby’s coat.
• Photo Opportunity: Barnaby loves posing for photos from his favorite climbing rock near the viewing platform.
