What is Applications of Mathematics?

Mathematics is all around is; it is in everything that we do!

Applications of Mathematics is a course designed to develop learners’ mathematical reasoning with the focus of relevance to learning, life and work.  It is a course which focuses on application of knowledge and skills in the following areas of Mathematics: Finance, Statistics, Geometry, Measure and Numeracy.

What skills are developed?

  • communication (verbal, written, visual)

  • teamwork
  • independent working—taking charge of your own learning

Mathematics is challenging, rewarding, logical and creative and the pathways which open as a result of studying Applications of Mathematics are vast.
