Staff Glow Account Info

Below are details staff will find useful to get the most out of their Glow account.

Are there any rules I need to follow to use Glow?

You can find the Glow Community rules – HERE.  All Glow users, both educators and learners, should adhere to the rules


I am leaving Moray to join another Local Authority, will my Glow account be transferred?

No, unfortunately staff accounts can not be transferred from one local authority to another.  A new account will be issued to you by your new school.  Please make sure you download anything you do not wish to lose as your Glow account will be automatically disabled once you leave your current position and can’t always be restored.


I have a new position in my local authority, but I will no longer be based in a school or listed in SEEMiS, what will happen to my Glow account?

When you leave your school based role a closure date will be added to your work record in SEEMiS, this will automatically disable your Glow account.  You should ensure you download anything you do not wish to lose before leaving your current role.  A new Glow account should be requested from missupport@moray.gov.uk  by your line manager.  Details of your PVG check may be required to create the new account.

If you have not downloaded all the content you wish to keep by the time your old school has updated you SEEMiS work record a 60 day grace period can be applied to your account, after which it will be automatically permanently deleted.  You should also provide your new Glow details to the owners of any Teams, Google Classroom or Groups you will still require access to so you can add you as a new member.


I am joining the supply bank, can I use my existing Glow account?

When you leave your school based role a closure date will be added to your work record in SEEMiS, this will automatically disable your Glow account.  As detailed above you should back up anything you wish to retain.  A new manually created Glow account can be requested from missupport@moray.gov.uk.


Can I save whatever I want into Glow?

No, only non sensitive learning and teaching documents should be saved in any part of Glow.  You can find details of what is and isn’t appropriate to save – HERE


Is there anything I do to do to get the full range of access with my Glow account?

Access to Google Additional Services including YouTube, Google Earth and Google Maps requires addition consent to be provided if you wish to access them with your Glow Google Account.  A link to the opt in form can be found of the Digital Learning Team’s SharePoint site in Glow


If I have any issues with my Glow account who should I ask?

In most instances your colleagues or school admin will be able to help with questions you might have about using Glow or resetting forgotten passwords.  If additional assistance is required please email missupport@moray.gov.uk with account queries or learntech@moray.gov.uk for assistance with applications within Glow.  More details on ensuring you contact the right team with your query can be found – HERE (please note you must be logged into Glow to view this material)
