Measuring

We have been learning all about measuring length and width.  We started by thinking about the size of things around us and then we had a go a measuring the room using our hands or feet.  We discovered that Mrs Carey had less foot steps to get across the room and Nathan had the most – this is because Mrs Carey has big feet and Nathan has little feet.

As our learning has progressed we have started to measure objects with cubes and on Wednesday we measured the length and width of some images and compared our answers with our learning friends.

Cooking again!

Last Friday we had some willing helpers who were on exam leave from the high school come into school to help us with our cooking.  Working in small groups we made yummy fork  biscuits.

We made so many we were able to share them with our friends.

Fruity Kebabs

For the next three weeks we will be getting into the kitchen and getting a chance to develop our cooking skills.  Our first session was making Fruit kebabs.  We chopped fruit into bite size chunks then threaded them onto bamboo skewers.

Term 4

20160420_171513 20160422_142132 20160428_135154 20160428_135224 20160428_182202Term 4 started off with our class assembly.  We spent the first week learning new songs in British Sign Language and learning about looking after our environment.  The children were amazing on the day and performed beautifully!

Our theme this term is Percy the Park Keeper.  We had a special visitor to our class, Barney the Rabbit.  He spent the day with us so we could learn about caring for pets – Barney was a great success.  We have already planted broad beans and made grass caterpillars, we are now eagerly waiting to watch them grow.  We are also carrying out experiments to see what environment is best for broad beans to grow…Watch this space!
