P4/5 Home School Learning 23 March 20

Good morning everyone,

This message will include ideas for home learning and some suggestions of activities that the children could perhaps complete in this last week of term.

Reading.

Try and read something every day.  A book or a comic.  Maybe read to brothers or sisters.  Use a funny voice, actions and have fun.

Writing

A diary would be a good way to get some writing in.  This doesn’t have to be every day and could even just be what you did at the weekend.  I would encourage adults to check spelling and ask children to try and correct them.

Maths

This week I would just ask to practise multiplication tables.  If you are confident then reverse them to practise division.  E.g. 2×5 =10, 10 divided by 2 = 5.

Health and Wellbeing

Make a kindness poster.  It will be difficult to get on with each other at home at times so suggest ways that you will try hard to be kind.

Context

Try to find out some the first Emperor of China then some that followed him.  You could then place them on a time-line.  Another suggestion would be to find out the names of some Chinese dynasties and write down information about them.

If you have a garden,  try and get outside for a little while.  See what wild life you can spot.  Get some exercise if you can.

Parents, if you are unsure which level your child is working at, it can be found on the reports that were recently issued.

Stay safe and well.
