Welcome to Week Nine everyone. I hope you are all getting on okay. Here are this week’s suggested learning activities.
Maths:
A mixed bag of maths challenges and games are available on Sumdog and HAM for this week.
Rights Respecting (Home) School:
Article 15 Freedom of association
Every child has the right to meet with other children and to join groups and organisations, as long as this does not stop other people from enjoying their rights. You are not allowed to meet up with other children right now – do you think that’s fair? What other rights do you think may be more important to protect while we are in lockdown? Make a list of 5 children that you would like to get in contact with. Write them a letter or video call them this week to find out how their week has been.
Reading and Writing:
All your groups, clubs and teams have had to stop for lock-down. Some of you would have been kick-boxing or doing Tae Kwan Do. On Oxford Owl, search for ‘Flying Kicks’. Have a read and try the activities.
Write a short report about an activity that you miss doing. It could be swimming, Cubs, Brownies, football, martial arts – anything that you usually do as part of a group or together with other children. Remember to have a title, a short introduction, and headings for each section. Include facts about the activity, and draw pictures to go along with the writing – or a labelled diagram to help the reader understand what happens more easily.
Health and Wellbeing:
Check out Miss McNab’s page for her latest challenges.
If you want, keep going with your exercise diary. If you do it for a few weeks in a row, you’ll be able to track your progress and feel proud of what you have achieved.
Take care everyone. This week’s Teams meeting will be Thursday at 11 o’clock. Hope to catch up with you there.
