P2Z Home Learning WEEK 2 (Term 4) 20 April 20

P2Z Learning for Term 4 week 2 (beginning 20.04.20)

Good morning to you all. Here we are ready to start week 2 of our virtual term. Hope you have all had a good week. It has been so nice for us to see what you have been up to. We are missing you all very much. Keep sending us your photos or even videos.

Here are some more suggested activities to help to keep you busy this week.

Reading:    Choose a book to share with someone in your house. Have a go at playing roll and retell with them. You can always do it with more than one book if you want to play again.

Writing:    Writing instructions – Write a set of instructions for the healthy sandwich or meal you made last week. You will need to illustrate your instructions too.

Things to consider when doing your writing:

• the title.
• drawing a picture for each step.
• pictures in the correct order (and numbering them).
• starting each instruction with a bossy verb.
• using a joining word.
• capital letters/full stops/neat writing.

* Remember writing is a process therefore it does not need to be done in one sitting. You can draw the pictures for your instructions on one day and write the instructions the next day or over a couple of days.
You can send us a photo of your finished pieces when you are done.

Numeracy:    Continue with your Sumdog. Remember, if you are having difficulty, think about the strategies you already know, ask someone at home to help or message us.
You are all doing a great job and working your way through the challenge. Keep this up!

Time
Last term we were learning about time (o’clock, quarter past, half past and quarter to on an analogue clock).
Can you make up a timetable for what you do in one day? Here is an example:
7am or 7o’clock – Wake up
Half past 7 – Breakfast
8am or 8 o’clock – Get dressed and brush my teeth
9am or 9 o’clock – PE with Joe Wicks

You can also add drawings of the activities if you wish and make the times on a clock or watch.

If you want to play some ‘Time’ games, here are a few you can have a go at:

Health and Wellbeing:
To show  appreciation of everyone who is helping us at this time, people are displaying rainbows in their homes. Have you done one yet?
We realise that quite a few of you are missing your friends. We thought that you could draw, make, paint or create a rainbow or even write about how you are feeling in rainbow colours. You can post some of your pictures on Twitter so that the rest of the class can see that you are thinking of them.

Just for a bit of fun, try this scavenger hunt.

Music:

Sing www.outoftheark.co.uk @home,   Week 1 Move it Monday:
‘Start the day with exercise’
Practise verses 1, 2 and 3 which are first to make sure that you know
them. Then carry on singing them one after another as a round (which
is the second part of the song). Have a go at doing each group!
Do  – In Youtube search for “nycos daily” (it stands for National Youth
Choir of Scotland)
I’d like you to have a go at:
‘Day 2: Have you ever, ever, ever’
It’s good fun! And don’t forget you can pause it at any time and do it
as many times as you want!
Listen  – to “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik” by Mozart on Youtube
Remember to close your eyes and enjoy!

Please remember that we are available to help and support you with your child’s learning. You can contact us through Twitter or email adminbishopmill@moray-edunet.gov.uk

We are looking forward to receiving all your photos and/or videos of whatever you have been up to this week.
