Welcome Back

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone to another school year at Alves Primary. It has been a real pleasure to catch up with everyone last week after the summer holidays. The excitement around the school is fantastic and I look forward to another brilliant year. The pupils joined their business groups for the first time yesterday afternoon to lead our school initiatives of Eco School, Enterprise, Global Citizenship (UNA), Health & Travel and Festivals. I have set the pupils a challenge of ensuring Mr McLeman has even more fun this year. The children are up for the challenge as they know if they are having more fun with their learning this will make me very happy. Each group has a remit to plan and run an assembly, keep an information board up to date, and plan and organise fun and exciting events over the school session. It would be very helpful if parents could support their children with ideas and suggestions for their group. I am very grateful to the Parent Council for organising this weeks Welcome Back Picnic. Therefore we will be having a dress down day this Friday called “Bring back the Summer”. Children can come to school in their summer gear. Many thanks to everyone for making the start of the 2017-18 session so great!
