Science – Owl Pellets

Look at us dissecting owl pellets!

What is an owl pellet?

Jamie – “Something that owls cough up.”

Ruth – “It’s something that they can’t digest.”

Caitlyn – “It’s something that they can’t eat.”

Max – “Bones and fur.”

Annabelle – “Like feathers, they can’t digest it.”

How are they sterilised?

Wipe them with a cloth.

Use washing up liquid.

Put them under a tap.

Use a sponge.

Use chemicals.
