What Are the Aims of the EAL Service?
- To enable all multilingual learners to achieve their full potential by ensuring staff in schools are supported in creating an inclusive multilingual environment.
- For the EAL team to share their experience and professional specialised knowledge and training that can support
multilingual learners, their families, staff and other professionals who work with them.
- To promote the welfare of multilingual learners in schools and in the community ensuring equality of opportunity and access to the mainstream curriculum.
- To work in partnership with schools to promote effective home/school communication and to raise awareness of the linguistic, cultural and religious background of multilingual learners.
