Higher MS – Researching NATO

Research the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and take notes on:

* Background Info – Member countries, Key events

* How they work – a political and military alliance, collective defence, the transatlantic link, 2010 Strategic concept.

* Recent and current missions

* Working Structure

* 2013 – A Year in Review – identify key events/activities that they have been involved in.

If you have missed lessons than you should use this to fill in gaps in your notes.  Follow the ‘path’ through the prezi by clicking the arrow at the bottom of the screen.

I have also added some extra videos about the General Assembly, Security Council and the work of the Secretary General for you to watch for extra background knowledge.

Task:

Click through the presentation by clicking on the arrow button at the bottom.

Note the first few slides show general information relating to the 2010 election, read through this, but you don’t need to take notes (unless you want to!) on this.

  • which party leader had the best image?
  • Is there a link between the image of a leader and their vote share?
  • What was Gordon Brown’s advantage?
  • Were the Debates a ‘game changer’
