Christmas Fair
Just a reminder that the Christmas Fair is this Saturday the 10th December from 10am -12pm. Any donations for the Bottle Stall, Raffle, Cake and Candy, or filled jars for the Jam Jar Jamboree stall would be gratefully received. There will also be a Thrift Uniform Stall so we would also welcome any school uniform in good condition which your child can no longer wear .
Don’t forget that there will also be Chocolate Chances , Gardening Club Stall, Face Painting and the opportunity to meet SANTA. You can also have the chance to win a Laptop by buying a ‘lucky square’ .
We look forward to seeing you there!
A 2C Visitor
As part of our social development Jingles the Elf has joined our class to observe who is being naughty and who is being nice. He will stay with us until the last day of term.
Jingles left a letter for our class reminding us what ‘nice’ looks like:
I can show respect for other people (listening, following instructions, being kind and sharing).
I can respect my classmates when they are talking.
I can encourage others to try their best.
We are looking forward to our time with Jingles. I am sure 2C will impress both Jingles and Santa.
St Andrew’s Day
Happy St Andrew’s Day
The pupils were looking ‘fair braw ‘ this morning when they came to school to celebrate St Andrew’s Day with a ‘touch o tartan’. 4/5C started off our day with a heartfelt rendition of ‘Scotland the Brave’ then 4C presented an assembly all about St Andrew and why he is important to Scots today. Many thanks for all the Chocolate which you kindly sent in – it will allow us to set up delicious ‘chocolate chances’ stall at the Christmas Fair on Saturday 10th December.
Aidan meets Nettie
Aidan with the life sized mascot he designed for the Badminton World Cup 2017.
He also got to introduce Nettie to Team GB Badminton player Kirtsy Gilmour and the Chief Executive of Badminton Scotland, Anne Smilie.
Glasgow Badminton
Some P7s had the opportunity to travel to Glasgow to the Emirates Arena on Sunday to join Aidan Matthews as part of his prize for winning a National competition. Aidan’s designed the winning Mascot for the 2017 Badminton World Cup and he and his classmates attended the Finals of the Scottish Open Championships on Sunday where the real life mascot was revealed to a large crowd in the main Arena. Pupils also got the chance to take part in sports activities run by Badminton Scotland in The Chris Hoy Velodrome before watching the mixed doubles and women’s singles finals. They even met some famous famous during the day and took part in a ‘mannequin challenge’. The children had a blast and were very proud of Aidan’s achievement – a long journey and a long day but definitely worth it for a super experience.
