P2 Forces
We have been learning about forces. We started by looking at types of forces (push, pull, twist, stretch, and bend).
Then we talked about friction and how it causes heat (when we rub our hands together) and how it can slow objects.
We predicted that a car would travel slower on grass than pavement due to friction. We were correct!
Christmas Dinner
A big well done to Mrs Maclennan and staff in the kitchens, who served up 250+ delicious Turkey dinners today. The boys and girls were very appreciative and polite, with lots of pleases and thank you’s. The older pupils were a great help with serving the younger pupils. This year the workmen joined us in the dining hall for Christmas Dinner, somehow managing to have their own jug of gravy at their table!
Outdoors in December
Outdoor Explorers TOPS group have been able to get outside every Thursday to explore local wild spaces. We have been to Sanquhar Pond, Helga’s Hole, Nelson’s Tower and different parts of Cluny Hill. The children take part in risk assessment of the area before they go off to explore and create.

6W wonder where their handmade, cheeky looking snowmen, will end up on Saturday…On sale at Applegrove Christmas Fair!
Any profit made from the sale of the snowmen will be used to buy some goodies to go to the Forres Gazette office. These can then be given as Christmas presents to someone considered in need of some Christmas cheer.
