We have been learning how to partition shapes into halves, quarters and some children have also split shapes into eighths.
We did this practically using strips of paper. We also used plasticine and physically cut it up with plastic knives.
We haveĀ learnedĀ about equivalent fractions and have learned that one half is the same as 2 quarters or 4 eighths.
We also have been halving numbers and linking this to doubles.
